Focus On: Conan The Barbarian (1982) Fantastic Films, June, 1982
Fantastic Films: The Magazine of Imaginative Media. Talk about a mouthful. Other than the awkward title, this issue is pretty good. In the context of Conan, it has a nice interview with production designer Ron Cobb (from whom you will hear a lot more later). One of the tidbits we learn is that the producers considered overdubbing Arnolds voice, which would have been a mistake. I can't imagine anyone telling me what is "best in life", other than everyone's favorite Austrian.
Ron Cobb also adds that the (at the time unrevealed) soundtrack by Basil Poledouris is "magnificent". So true.
